Who We Are

Restaurant DNA was founded in 1998 to address the needs and wants of restaurant owners, operators, private equity, vendors and distributors. We are a small tightly focused craft consultancy that has provided individualized and personalized service to a limited number of clients for over twenty years. We believe consulting is a craft- an art, something that engages the mind and senses and requires a personal human touch to best serve our clients.

 

Doug Bates founded RDNA and has over forty years in the hospitality industry.  He grew up in Oklahoma, where he experienced all four seasons in one day, used y'all as an actual word, and learned the importance of values and family.  Doug also learned that hard work and education were the path to getting ahead, and then later in life, the principle that a blessed family and professional life should be punctuated by helping others. He  also learned to treat others with kindness and to this day use a Will Rogers quote as his company's mantra. "A stranger is just a friend I haven't met yet."
